Dante Biss Grayson

I’m Dante Biss-Grayson, a Native American USAF Veteran and member of the Osage Nation (my clan is Eagle) with tours in Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan, and Italy. I am also an artist, an activist, a husband, and father. I began my family-run fashion house, the Sky-Eagle Collection, which I run with my wife, Yanti, after my daughter was born.

While I have created art for years, I began my professional career as an artist after I returned home from multiple tours of duty with so many traumatic incidents locked deep inside my heart and soul. I needed a release, I needed therapy, and so I opened my art and fashion studios as a way to heal. I paint, write poetry, sculpt, create art installations, and I am a fashion designer, and hope my work brings healing and good medicine to others.

Dante Biss-Grayson is an Osage artist, fashion designer, poet, sculptor, and U.S. Air Force veteran whose multidisciplinary practice bridges contemporary Indigenous fine art, couture fashion, and cultural advocacy. Drawing from classical training, Indigenous knowledge, and personal experiences as a combat veteran, his work explores identity, healing, resilience, and the evolving narrative of Native America.

After studying at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in the Netherlands and the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) in Santa Fe, Biss-Grayson apprenticed under acclaimed painter Earl Biss, refining a practice that spans painting, sculpture, holographic installations, poetry, and fashion design. His work often transforms personal experiences into visual narratives that encourage healing while challenging perceptions of contemporary Indigenous art.

As founder and creative director of the Native- and Veteran-owned Sky-Eagle Collection, Biss-Grayson has become one of the leading voices in contemporary Indigenous fashion. His collections blend traditional Osage influences with modern couture, creating wearable art that celebrates Native identity while bringing awareness to issues affecting Indigenous communities.

Working across both gallery and runway, Biss-Grayson’s paintings and designs have been exhibited internationally while his fashion collections have appeared at New York Fashion Week, the Cannes Film Festival, London, Santa Fe, and numerous Indigenous fashion showcases. Through every medium, his work reflects a commitment to cultural preservation, innovation, and the message that Indigenous peoples are vibrant, contemporary, and continuing to shape the future.
